Chapter I. Overview

Section 1. Competition Introduction

  1. This document contains the rules of Effect Playing Contest 2025 $\mathsf{^{("EPC\ 2025"\ or\ "EPC")}}$.
  2. EPC is an overall competition for A Dance of Fire and Ice $\mathsf{^{("ADOFAI"\ or\ the\ "Game")}}$, linking and running two contests: the VFX Section and the Playing Section.
  3. The VFX Section aims to identify participants with high-quality visual effects (VFX) creation skills for ADOFAI custom levels through pure and fair methods.
  4. The Playing Section aims to identify participants who can achieve outstanding scores on challenging high-difficulty ADOFAI custom levels through pure and fair methods.
  5. Some of the custom levels submitted to the VFX Section will be used in the Playing Section.
  6. These rules apply to everyone who participate in and run EPC 2025.
  7. The organizers can revise the rules where needed, even during the Competition. If the rules are revised, the organizers will announce the change as soon as possible.
  8. Anything not provided for in these Rules will be handled under social practices and in good faith.

Section 2. Responsibilities of Participants

  1. All participants must comply with the following:
    1. Learn the Competition Rules beforehand and follow them.
    2. Respect other participants and the organizers.
    3. Perform to the best of their ability.
    4. Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the purpose of the Competition.
    5. Abide by the organizers' decisions during the match.
    6. Submit all materials for the Competition in a timely manner.
  2. All participants must be available on time to participate in the schedule provided in advance by the organizers.
  3. All participants must own a copy of A Dance of Fire and Ice and the Neo Cosmos DLC.

Section 3. Penalty

  1. The organizers may penalize participants found to be the following, even after the competition is over.
    1. Violating the rules.
    2. Exploiting loopholes for advantages.
    3. Disrupting progress of the Competition intentionally.
  2. Types of penalties are as follows:
    1. Request for correction.
      • If the request for correction is not complied with, other penalties may be applied.
    2. Caution.
      • Issued for actions that have a minor impact on the smooth progress of the Competition.
      • Two accumulated cautions will convert to one warning.
    3. Warning.
      • Issued for actions that have a major impact on the smooth progress of the Competition.
      • Scores are deducted from the current or next round when a warning is issued.
    4. Score deduction from the current or the next round.
    5. Disqualification.
    6. Two-year ban from all competitions organized by Dazzling or ADOFAI.gg.
    7. Revocation of rewards, such as prizes or winnings.
  3. Penalty counts are not reset unless otherwise specified, with the exception of caution and warning counts being reset once just before the Finals.
  4. All interpretations and making decisions under the rules are made by the organizers only.
